On September 30, 2020, by virtual means, Ms. Josefa Diamantopoulos, made the 4th follow-up visit to the European Life Ecoelectricity Project (LIFE15 CCM / ES / 000080), a project that studies the use of residues derived from distillation of alcohols to obtain electrical energy and heat by using a hydrogen cell.

(Cariñena, September 30, 2020) - Ms. Josefa Diamantopoulos, belonging to NEEMO's external monitoring team, has proceeded to visit the latest progress of the Life Ecoelectricity project - The visit, which is carried out by telematic means due to the COVID-19, has allowed to show and debate the optimizations made in the pilot plant aimed at achieving the objectives of the project approved by the European Commission (EASME, of the LIFE program).

(project coordinator), San Valero Distilleries (DSV), the Association for Research in the Toy, Related and Related Industry (AIJU), Ingenieria para el Desarrollo Tecnológico SL (INDETEC) and the Institute of Chemical Technology (ITQ UPV- CSIC).

The consortium of the LIFE15CCM / ES / 000080 Ecoelectricity project made a presentation in which the latest technical advances of this pioneering initiative were shown, which consists of the reuse of alcoholic waste of low commercial value to obtain electricity and heat by means of a SOFC type fuel cell. During the visit, a video presentation of the pilot plant built was also made, as well as a remote connection to explain its operation.

The visit has counted in person, from the demonstration plant located in Destilerías San Valero in Cariñena (Zaragoza), and through a virtual system, with all those responsible for the companies and institutions that make up the consortium that is carrying out the execution of the referred draft.
